There are reports that several regular players at Full Tilt Poker have received emails from the security team. This email tells them that refunds will be issued after several player accounts at Full Tilt had been caught using a computer program to play for them online, commonly called “bots”. These bots were specifically playing on the Texas Holdem limit tables.

Some have reported that two suspect bot accounts were JapintheSack and BeatMe1 yet no one from Full Tilt has officially confirmed these accusations. For all the accounts that are suspected, Full Tilt Poker has frozen their accounts as well as seized all the money that was within those accounts.

There have been complaints from players about bots on Full Tilt for some time now and officially Full Tilt has denied these claims repeatedly. The number of poker players affected by this problem is estimated to be in the thousands but Full Tilt Poker has made no official announcement as of yet.

This is nothing new for online gambling and the industry. MSNBC did a story about bots and poker in 2004 written by Mike Brunker claiming it would be a significant problem for online poker to tackle, another report released in 2006 by Party Poker addressed bots and what their online poker site was doing to combat the problem.

Full Tilt Poker is not the only online poker site suspected to have problems with bots but they are the one that first this moment, caught them and are dealing with the issue.
